Biography

Tarun Kumar Bera, Postdoc (USTL, Lille, France), PhD (IIT Kharagpur, India), ME (IIEST, Shibpur, India), BE (NIT Silchar, India) and is presently a Professor at Mechanical Engineering Department of Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (Deemed to be University), Patiala. He worked as a production engineer at Greaves Ltd. (1996–1998) and as a faculty at BIET, India (2001–2011). He has done Post-Doctoral research at LAGIS, CNRS, Lille, France during 2011–12. He is former Visiting Faculty of Université d'Angers, France. He has published 56 International Journal papers and 22 conference papers. He has supervised more than 30 Master students and 3 PhD scholars in the area of dynamics and control. He has received several projects of worth Rs. 1.4 Crores from different government and private agencies. He is also the PI of the FIST grant of worth Rs. 0.9 Crore. His research interests are system dynamics, mobile robotics, vehicle dynamics, multi-body dynamics, modelling, simulation & control systems and machining dynamics.
