Biography
Dr. Himanshu, an Assistant Professor (Research) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET), Patiala, is a dedicated researcher working in the field of thermochemical conversion of biomass. His research focuses on the development of a clean biomass pellet-based combustion device having emission characteristics at par with the gold standard LPG stove. He has expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations for thermal performance enhancement of biomass-based combustion devices. He has contributed to several sustainable energy projects, including the design and development of a hybrid cookstove testing hood, hybrid draft cookstove and a small-scale biochar kiln. His future research aims to develop sustainable and affordable biomass-based energy systems, including clean cookstoves, dryers, and biochar reactors.
