Society for Community Engineering (SCE)

The purpose of “Society for Community Engineering (SCE)” is to provide “Innovative, Sustainable and Affordable Engineering Solutions to Patiala”, wherever creative engineering solutions are required.

This is an initiative of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, but students from any stream can join. The students will identify “problems/need” in Patiala and will develop innovative engineering solutions (products/prototypes).

 Students would acquire skills to:

1. Develop creative solutions to complex problems: identify problems, design and develop engineering solutions optimized for sustainability and affordability.

2. Secure innovation through patents, opportunity to develop startups

3. Pitch for fundraising

4. Develop community, alumni and industry network

5. Address national missions such as “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat”
