Biography

Dr. Prabhakar Kushwaha is an Assistant Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala. He earned his PhD in Fluid Power and Control from the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. He also holds an M.Tech. from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kanpur. Prior to joining Thapar, he taught at VIT Chennai, UPES Dehradun and the Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) Centre, Banasthali Vidyapith, delivering courses in Fluid Power, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Robotics and Industrial Automation. His research lies at the intersection of fluid power, soft robotics, and intelligent control, with a primary focus on hydromotor-powered drives for heavy earth-moving machinery, model-based and data-driven fault diagnosis and prognosis for variable-load applications. He brings extensive industry-aligned training exposure with Rexroth, Festo, Janatics, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and YUKEN.
