Biography
Dr. Ravinder Kumar Duvedi is Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department of Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), Patiala since August 2019. He joined TIET as lecturer in July 2004. He has been instrumental in establishing Experiential Learning Center (ELC) at TIET, Patiala, which was established in January 2018 for imparting immersive engineering education with focus on open ended project-based engineering education at par with international standards for developing industry ready skilled human capital.
Dr. Duvedi is a member of dynamic CAD-CAM-CAE research group and has taught various subjects in the area CAD-CAM, Mechatronics, Robotics etc. at UG and PG levels. He has developed state of art Automobile Lab (2008), State Initiated Design Center for Ornamental Carvings-SIDC (2009) and Computer Aided Manufacturing Lab (2008) at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala.
He is the Faculty coordinator for Computer Aided Manufacturing Lab since 2008 and Associate Faculty Coordinator for SIDC Centre since 2009. He has coordinated several techno-social activities and short term courses for the technological upgrading of unskilled and skilled aspirants in the area of Computer Aided Manufacturing.
His research interests include development of toolpath planning algorithms for efficient five-axis machining of sculptured surfaces, automation of ornamental 3D designs using customized web based CAD applications, development of PC based CNC machining systems for ornamental carving, FEM modelling for non-Newtonian Lubrication of Journal Bearing, CNC machine tools design, Mechatronics and Robotics.
