Biography
Dr. Bikramjit Sharma is active researcher in area of polymer nanocomposites, environmental degradation of polymer composites, anti-corrosion thermally conductive polymer coatings. In his PhD work on “Processing and characterization of fiber reinforced polymer nanocomposites and their degradation in marine environments”, he has developed the technology to incorporate nano-filers in the traditional FRP giving products with much reduced ingress of seawater and thus better retention of mechanical properties. This research work was supported by Naval Research Board, DRDO, India. His current research activities include synthesis of anti-icing coatings, anticorrosion coatings, molecular dynamics simulations, structural and thermal analysis of coatings. An ongoing research project “Nanostructured coatings to improve thermal efficiency of heat exchangers and mitigate corrosion and velocity erosion” has been sponsored by Dassault Systemes Foundation, Mumbai India. He has mentored undergraduate and graduate students in industry sponsored projects, capstone projects and national and international engineering design competitions. He also works in a team of faculty members who contribute towards planning and developing Experiential Learning programmes and initiatives for students, conduct orientation sessions and feedback sessions.
