Dr. Deepak Jain is an active researcher in the area of mechanics of composite materials, finite element methods, heat and mass transport in composites. He has around 19 years of experience in industry, teaching and research. He received his doctoral degree in the field of composites material from TIET Patiala Kanpur in 2015. Since 2016, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala. Dr. Jain visited Virgina Tech, USA in 2018 as a visiting researcher and pursued research in the field of environmental degradation of composite materials for versatile applications. Dr. Jain is involved in many national and international collaborations and published many journal and international conference publications. He has supervised 10 Master’s dissertations in the area of composite materials and mechanics of materials. Dr. Jain has successfully received grants worth ~INR 70 Lacs from different funding agencies to pursue development of composites for environmentally durable structural and non-structural applications.
