Biography

Dr. Rajnish Mallick is a Visual Mathematics Evangelist, Digital & Emerging Technology Lead, and Aerospace Scientist. He has 12+ years of applied research experience in Aerospace, Mechanical Sciences, and Machine Intelligence R&D with a focus on business value. He is passionate about Research and Technology (R&T) and making an impact on society. Dr. Mallick has authored 22 research articles (which includes 01 book chapter, and 03 white papers). He did his MS Research and Doctorate in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore in 2014, followed by his first Post-Doctorate in Applied Mathematics and Aerospace Engineering from IISc Bangalore in 2015. He has designed and developed a smart trailing edge flap for helicopter vibration alleviation and transferred the Technology to HAL with TRL 4+.

Dr. Mallick started his industrial R&D career in John Deere Technology Center as Design Engineer in 2008 after his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering. Later, he pursued his passion for Aerospace and Applied Mathematics and joined Rolls-Royce, Jet Engine Division in 2015. He is also the founding President of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) Chapter and AHS International Chapter at IISc. He delivers public lectures and keynote talks and likes to mentor budding scientists and engineers. He was the panellist and keynote speaker at the IIT Madras conclave on AI in Engineering in 2019. Dr. Mallick was also the cluster lead and invited panellist by the Government of India in the Global VaiBhaV summit in the Aerospace Technologies vertical and horizontals in 2020. He is also alumni of MIT Professional Education and did specialization in Digital Programs from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA. Dr. Mallick did his second post-doctorate in data-driven research in Aerospace Engineering in IISc Bangalore in 2021. Currently, he is engaged in writing his book on Visual Mathematics for Scientists and Engineers.
