Biography

Dr. Anil Kumar Pal is a passionate researcher in the domain of Finite and Fixed Time Control Design, Sliding Mode Control, Multi-agent Systems and Machine Learning. Presently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala, India. He received his bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication engineering from Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg, Chhattisgarh, India in 2008. He received M. Tech with specialization in Control Systems from IIT (BHU), Varanasi, India in 2013. He received his Ph.D. degree from IIT (BHU), Varanasi, India in 2020. From March 2022 to March 2024, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Calgary, Canada. During his postdoctoral studies he worked on implementing machine learning and path planning algorithms for humanoid robot and autonomous drone projects. He also visited Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen during Nov-Dec 2019, working on super-twisting algorithms with predefined-time convergence. He has research collaborations both at national and international levels. He has published several papers in reputed journals and conferences.
