Biography

Dr. P. R. Chauhan is an Assistant Professor (Research) in the Mechanical Engineering Department at TIET, Patiala. He earned his Ph.D. in 2024 from the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Delhi, focusing on “Green Adsorbents and Optimization Strategies for Adsorption Refrigeration Systems.” He holds an M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Jalandhar on the topic “Analysis of Entropy Generation in Laminar Convective Fluid Flow”, and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from BIET Jhansi. Dr. Chauhan is a member of ASHRAE, ASME, IAS, ISHMT, ISME, and ISHRAE.

Dr. Chauhan’s research interests include waste-to-value-added products for adsorption refrigeration, atmospheric water harvesting, carbon capture, etc. He is also interested in passive cooling, thermal energy storage, microchannel designs, and heat transfer enhancement techniques, and actively developing mathematical models grounded in the First and the Second Laws of Thermodynamics to better understand the functioning of such systems. Furthermore, Dr. Chauhan is exploring the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques for multi-objective optimization.
